Starting off the weekend RIGHT with a classic Rolex Datejust! The reference 1601 needs very little introduction: it’s a stone cold legend! REFERENCE: 1601 SERIAL NUMBER: 2,319,XXX YEAR: 1970 DIAL: The Rolex silver sunburst pie pan dial is about as classic as it gets, and this is a great example! That sunburst finish pops exactly as it should, beautiful, clean lettering and perfectly aged tritium lume that matches between the hour markers and the hands. And of course that SWEET original open 6 and 9 date wheel! A few light age marks seen under a loupe, a tiny bit of the common edge wear, some lume degradation on the hands, but all in I hope I look this good at 54! CRYSTAL: Plexi crystal has wear seen at certain angles, but all in presents beautifully. CASE: Really nice 36MM stainless steel case with solid 18k white gold bezel. Lugs are nice and even with great brushing on top. Has wear throughout, mostly seen on the polished sides, as to be expected, but also looks fantastic! MOVEMENT: Service history is unknown, but that iconic Rolex automatic work horse is doing what it was designed to do - winding and setting beautifully and timegrapher numbers are great at 4 seconds a day with an amplitude of 248. BRACELET: Comes complete with Rolex jubilee bracelet. Light wear throughout, mostly seen on the clasp, but looks great all around, with better than average stretch for the age, especially for a large jubilee - this will fit up to about a 7.7 inch wrist.
