This timepiece has been one of my favorites ever since its introduction. Beyond its stunning aesthetics, it holds significant historical value for the Omega brand, marking a new era. It was the watch that heralded the introduction of Omega's modern family of truly in-house calibers. The Cal 8500 (8501 for the gold models) debuted with this timepiece, featuring every part made in-house utilizing the latest technology. This caliber has since served as the foundation for all Omega models. When the opportunity arose to purchase it brand new, I couldn't resist. While I've cherished owning this watch, I'm now ready to pass it on to a new owner. I had Omega service the watch at the end of 2022 to ensure its pristine condition for sale. The watch has been carefully worn a handful of times since then and looks new. Now, for the specifics: This watch houses the exclusive Cal 8501 movement, unique to gold models. Setting it apart from the traditional 8500, it boasts a full red gold rotor and balance bridge, visible through the caseback. With a diameter of 41mm, the watch wears exceptionally well and feels well balanced. The bracelet features a hidden butterfly clasp, adding to its elegance and versatility. Included with the watch are all of its links, the three cards (with matching serials), manuals, Omega wooden box, and even the serialized hang tag. Crafted from solid 18K gold, this timepiece not only looks very luxurious but it also feels luxurious and substantial. Just the fully linked bracelet, a true masterpiece on its own, weighs 5.50 oz of 18K gold.
