[WTS] Second Hour Mandala: 1st Gen with Amazing Green Dial!
[WTS] Second Hour Mandala: 1st Gen with Amazing Green Dial!
Up for bid is a first generation Second Hour Mandala. Second Hour is a microbrand from Australia that has been putting out some really interesting sports watches. The Mandala refers to the Buddhist drawings that utilize intricate line patterns, somewhat like this dial. The star of this watch is the dial with a bright green grain d’orge (barleycorn) pattern. It really looks incredible, and light just dances off of it. The indices are well-lumed, and have an interesting structure, rising above the dial and rehaut. Uniquely, the 12, 4 and 8 are marked with additional indices on the rehaut. The hands also have an unusual forked shape. This is a steel sports watch rated to 10 atm (100 meters or 330 feet) of water resistance. The case has a nice sleek shape that curves elegantly toward the bracelet. The well knurled screw-down crown is protected by sturdy crown guards. The crown also features the Mandala logo. The crystal is sapphire. The rear is protected by a sapphire caseback, and reveals the works which has a decorated rotor and some striping. Movement is a Miyota 9039, which allows hacking and hand-winding. Works great and keeps accurate time. Case is 40 mm, 45 lug-to-lug, height 10.5 mm, lugs 20 mm. Very wearable. Lovely beads of rice style bracelet includes a deployant clasp with the mandala logo. The bracelet is a little stiff—just needs to be worn more. Condition is excellent. No noticeable damage. Maybe a few hairlines from desk diving. Asking $450, prefer Paypal or Venmo.
