This watch takes organic to a whole new level! This is the rare Cartier Tank known as the Pallisandre de Rio aka Brazilian Rosewood. That’s right, both the dial and the sides are made out of solid Brazilian rosewood - AWESOME! This piece of design rarity was released for only one year in the 70s from two Cartier boutiques. It’s estimated that less than 3000 were made. As Cartier Tanks grow ever more popular, this one stands out of the crowd, a true conversation starter and a wearable piece of art! YEAR: App. mid 70s DIAL: Solid Brazilian rosewood (extremely hard to photograph) but just STUNNING in person! All of the natural beauty of wood, and as you can see here different shades throughout with a very cool light streak running down the center. In beautiful condition, with light wear as expected, but looks awesome! CASE: This is slightly wider than your average vintage men’s Tank at 24.5mm by 30mm, giving it some nice extra presence as seen on my 6.5 inch wrist. You’ve got more solid Brazilian rosewood on the sides, in darker shade with lighter sections as well, playing off the dial perfectly. Case sides have light natural wear, and the crown was replaced at some point, although this one fits the watch nicely. Also wear to the case back, which is common with these. All in presents beautifully! MOVEMENT: Cartier (ETA base) hand wound movement. Service history unknown, but winding and setting well with good timegrapher numbers at 19 seconds per day and an amplitude of 234. STRAP: Comes on a brand new dark green hand made suede strap, adding to the organic look (ya get the whole tree!) also comes with its original Cartier buckle, with light plating wear.
