**Model:** SAWV003 / 7F38-9A00 **Year:** March 1999 **Video:** [Click here to see a video of the watch in action](https://www.instagram.com/p/C84D5a3oZGx/) **Features:**  **The Design.** As if case the four subdials weren’t unique enough, Seiko added a door to the SAWV003. The results are magnificently weird, and I’m all for it. The door actually acts as a giant magnifier; essentially its purpose is to be an entire dial “cyclops” making it easier to read each subdial (once the door is opened, it can also be used as a general magnifying glass for things like text/maps!). In my opinion, its true function is to evoke Seiko’s unapologetic 1990s approach to design; a time when no design philosophy was too sacred to challenge. Although Seiko has become more reserved in recent years, vintage pieces like this serve as a reminder of their quirky spirit. **Higher-End.** Originally part of Seiko’s higher-end releases. It cost 120,000 yen which was $1100 at the time (not adjusted for inflation). For 1990s Seiko it was definitely a pricey watch. **The Movement.** Circular day and date, a monthly moonphase and a “towards the sun” independently programmable hour hand make up the four subdials. The hour markers have been replaced with N, E, S, and W, aiding in navigation with the “towards the sun” dial. The "towards the sun" hand can function as a GMT hand if you prefer, as it can be set independently to the main hour hand.  **The Case.** Although it may not look like, both the door and the case itself have crystals in them. It's often erroneously thought that once you open the door you have direct access to the hands and dial - don't worry, they are safely kept behind a second layer of crystal! **Condition**: In great condition overall. The crystals, the main case, the dial and hands are all perfect. The only marks of note are the hairline scratches visible on the bezel of the door (on the left side of the door, around 7 and 8 o'clock). The case back has a handful of scratches.  **Scope**: No box or papers **Movement**: 7F38 Moonphase Quartz **Dimensions:** Case Width: 38.0mm Case Thickness: 11.8mm Lug Width: 18mm **Price:** $1480. Payment by Wire, [Wise.com](http://Wise.com) or PayPal. Transaction fees paid by you. Shipping priced at ($5 to $35 based on your location).  [Album](https://imgur.com/a/1auMk9n) [Timestamp](https://imgur.com/a/u1Fwmab)
