Reference: 1726 Truly a classic of the Tank line here—reminiscent of the elusive and beloved Tank Cintree, this perfectly sized 23mm case stretches to 42mm—bringing the early 20th century classicism into a more modern design language. A relic of art deco design, this piece features the quintessential Louis Cartier styling of blued hands, Roman numerals, guilloche dial, and an artfully industrial-feeling crown with a sculptural sapphire cabochon. This example in honest, unpolished condition, with light scuffs and scratches throughout the case, crystal and bracelet, however a light polish could bring this back to like-new condition, if you so chose. The hefty but supple bracelet is very tight with very little stretch. This is a rarity of the tanks with an automatic movement and quick set date function. The watch is keeping very accurate time and winds nicely, yet the power reserve doesn’t hold a charge much longer than about 10 hours once off the wrist. This is common with Cartier movements of the era and is fixable with a simple servicing. The piece is in 18k white gold, weighing 130 grams.
