**Story Time**: For those of you who may have missed my previous post, a quick recap of what’s prompting this sale – in 2013, we unexpectedly lost my brother just three months after he had turned thirty-two. Recently, my family gathered to commemorate my brother’s life; during that gathering, my Dad, who has ALWAYS been tremendously selfless and lived a life of relative austerity to provide the best possible life for us, asked me some questions I did not anticipate - "how much does a Rolex cost and how difficult are they to maintain?" Needless to say, for a man as spendthrift as my dad, fine timepieces are more pricey than he had anticipated so I haven't gotten any "let's go Rolex shopping!" texts from him in the days that have followed. But the idea that he may want a Rolex is stuck in my head now... **#DATEJUST4DAD** That brings us to today; I am listing more of my watch collection for sale/trade with the intention to surprise my Dad with a 2013 dated Rolex Datejust 36 with fluted bezel on stainless steel Jubilee bracelet. Obviously, a trade of some combination of my watches for a 2013 DJ would be most convenient for me, but I understand that someone with a 2013 DJ36 may not have any interest in my eclectic mix of watches, so I'm prepared to sell however many watches as necessary to get the funds to outright purchase the watch, as needed. With that said, as much as I think it would have tremendous sentimental value to gift my Dad a 2013 dated DJ, I imagine my Dad will be moved all the same if I surprise him with a Rolex, irrespective of the date on the papers.
