Updated pictures after doing some adjustments with my Iphones camera settings, still not happy with how the phone is destroying the sharpness especially on the fine details like the printing but a bit better than my last photos at least. I am still not familiar on how to make an Iphone 16 to not ruin my photos, something my 4+ year old 12 mini did a better job with..
For sale is a vintage Seamaster 300 from 1964, no-date which means reference 165.024. This is not a top example what so ever and the watch has its flaws but fully wearable to enjoy a real vintage SM300.
On the plus side:
-Original 1506/16 bracelet which are very scarce these days
-Physically Extract from the archives
-Renovated insert
-Nice dial surface without any moisture issues
-The price 😁
The flaws:
-Relumed dial and hands
-Not original crystal and tension ring
-Replacement crown
-Case has some wear, mostly shown on the backside though
-Bezel is very harsh to rotate
Dial is nice without any issues except the lume which have been redone some time ago and to be honest quite sloppy and not what contemporary relumers can achieve. The colour is okey and matching but application is quite thick and not so evenly. It seems to be old tritium though since it reacts to light and UV exactly as tritium does, it lights up greenish for a short while and then dies (see photo under taken UV light).
Hands are original but have the same lume as the dial.
H.F case which is quite nice except some pitting and some scratches on the back and caseback, the caseback also looks a bit more polished or worn than the midcase.
Omega signed crown that looks like the original (?) but I belive is a replacement.
The crystal also is a replacement and have a bit to small tension ring.
Cal 552 movement that is running strong and keeping time but I have no known service history.
Bezel insert have been renovated by our own McGyver and really looks great, fonts are as the original -64 and it reacts just as tritium would (and matching the reaction of the lume on the hands and dial).
The bezel is harsh to rotate so Im guessing there are lots of old grunk stuck there that needs to be cleaned, and probably some ruby bearing ball needs to be replaced.
Original 1506/16 bracelet stamped -65 (which is not unusual with a 1964 production year watch). The bracelet is in good shape with tight springs, its not full length but will fit a 18cm wrist without any flex as it is now. The watch will be offered head only or including the bracelet.
In conclusion a decent original vintage Seamaster 300 for what I belive is cheapest world wide!
Price: 4000EUR head only or 6000EUR with the 1506/16 bracelet net to me by bankwire or wise. I’m located in Sweden.
