Good evening, WatchEx! Final listing of the evening: a brand new release from up-and-coming Echo/Neutra - the Rivanera. This is just pure modernized art-deco perfection. Before reading thee rest of my nonsense, please go straight to the album and just look how clean this thing is. I'll trust you did just that. So - the Rivanera! Echo/Neutra is an Italian microbrand that's had some hit designs over the past few years, but this is one hell of a leap for them. I've always liked their designs...but this is just next-level. Sure, it seems simple - a square watch with a mostly simple dial, a reliable Swiss Handwound movement, some nice handmade leathers, and great packaging. Once you get into the details, though... Grade 5 titanium case. EN went straight to the top here, choosing a very high quality metal with much greater scratch resistance than your every day titanium seen in watches - and it's also insanely light, making for a very, very comfortable watch. This is as close to precious metal as it gets without actually fetching a huge premium. The finish is somewhat of a bead-blasted effect, with a silky smooth high-polished beveling on the case sides. The dial - EN gives two choices, a nice cool grey (this one) or black. I much preferred the cool grey, as it offers more depth in my opinion. The dark gunmetal indices and black lines/hands on the dial really pop against the dial and really help it lean into that art-deco standout style that I've always been a fan of. This is a brand new release, with the first 200 watches still shipping out. EN plans on producing more, but the current ETA on the second batch is February 2025.
