This Rolex Oyster Junior Sport, introduced in the early 1930s, is part of the iconic “Flatback” models. Produced exclusively for the Canadian market, these watches were marketed to soldiers heading overseas and sold in PX stores. Unlike other similar models, the case and crown are full Rolex Oyster specifications, making it highly desirable. Powered by the Rolex Caliber 59 (a finished Fontainemelon FHF30), this 30mm stainless steel watch features a striking two-tone patina crisscross dial, radium lume hands, and the original “Oyster Patent” crown. The “boy’s size” case made it a popular choice among World War II RAF pilots, known for wearing these during the Battle of Britain. Condition: The watch is in excellent unpolished condition, with age-appropriate wear that reflects its nearly 100-year history.
