Picked this up back in September and just not wearing it much.
I like the story of the Benrus company..."Benrus" is a portmanteau (word of the day!), a blend-word of the name of the cofounder: Benjamin Lazrus. Benjamin and his two brothers founded a watch repair business in NYC in 1921 and went on to manufacturer their own. Lots of interesting details in the company's history, including some beef with Hamilton, and most everyone knows them for their use in the US Military and a particular Steve McQueen movie. Like many smaller companies it experienced numerous acquisitions and changing-of-hands, and was recently re-booted in 2022.
