The “Age of Discovery” usually refers to the period from the 1400s to 1700s, a time of mapping the world, connecting isolated cultures, and setting the stage for globalization. To put it in perspective, this was when the printing press was invented, Constantinople fell, and even the Salem witch trials took place. Somehow, amidst all that history, Seiko managed to capture the essence of exploration in a single watch. The scroll lugs, gold accents, cartographic details, and Roman numerals all transport you back to that era. What makes this piece stand out is its design. The case is unlike anything else, resembling the wheel of a sailing ship with four pushers on each side. The dial is full of details that evoke old maps, compasses, and seafaring adventures. The vintage-style lugs and the engraved ship on the case back reinforce that spirit of exploration. With a 38mm case diameter, 8mm thickness, and 18mm lug width, this watch is incredibly versatile for daily wear. Powered by the Seiko 5T52 Quartz Movement, it delivers a range of practical features, including world time with 24 cities, a dual-time display, and an alarm subdial, making it a great companion for travelers.
