For sale is this vintage Seiko Emblem 4120-5000 from April 1975, made in Japan. The Emblem series was a mid-range series just below the expensive big hitter quartz models which were top-of-the-range in the Seiko lineup during the 70s and may have routes from Seiko's Emblem branded clock series (perhaps the designs were made to look more like clocks?).  Manufactured in Seiko's Suwa factory (shown by the Suwa swirl logo on the dial) during its famous rivalry with the Daini Factory.This particular Seiko Emblem model cost ¥50,000 back in 1975 which translates to almost $700 in today's money adjusted for inflation! The first thing that strikes you is the mesmeric amber dial that shimmers and changes tone to chocolate in the light. The contrasting baton markers are painted white along with the stick pencil hands (which are the right length) and logo pair nicely with the beautiful dial. The case design is very 70s with the square TV-style dial. The brushing of the case front extends to the multi-link bracelet with polish only to the case sides (original finish).
