[WTS] Vintage Manual Hamilton 671 from the 1950's - Serviced
Hello Folks, Up for sale is a vintage Hamilton I fully serviced. New crystal, new mainspring, new gasket and now it runs beautifully! About 3 seconds off a day and 220 amplitude and .5 beat error at its worst. Very pleased with that. A great affordable entry if someone likes vintage watches but has a limited budget. The movement is a 671 (which is the ETA 1080 you'll see stamped in the pictures) and due to it's age, please treat more gently than you would a modern watch. This one does have shock protection for the balance staff, but the usual applies: Avoid water, avoid magnets, and this is not a field watch for rough housing. The dial has some wicked cool radium burns, original hands and after long weeks of testing, the watch runs and doesn't stop or suddenly gain or lose time. That said, this was serviced by a hobbyist, not a professional. The case is pretty beat up. The lugs can still hold a strap, but I recommend a quick release strap (the king with pins you can push down, no tool required) and if you take it to a watchmaker, tell them to unscrew the case back gently and carefully so they don't destroy what's left of the threads. Brute force and clumsy hands will not be this watch's friends. Heavy wear on the lugs and back, but the front of the bezel and case are in really good shape. It just looks cool. Given its condition, I'm only asking $150 net to me so I can cover my costs and a little extra to pay the taxman. Buy pays shipping and it will be tracked. I don't mind shipping outside of the US, but depending on where to, for the right buyer. Thanks for looking, Sparky
