Bifora was one of the few German watch brands that developed its own movements and manufactured them entirely in Germany. The Skindiver 115 with its 37mm stainless steel case combines this rare origin with the distinctive tool watch charm of the 1960s and 70s. Today, it stands for authentic vintage diving watches from a time when German watchmakers were still genuine competitors to the major Swiss brands. The 115 is in wonderful condition. The bezel, case and deep black dial are much more impressive in real life than in the photos, which, due to the strongly domed glass, struggle to capture their true effect. The watch has been freshly serviced: all seals have been replaced, the case and movement have been thoroughly cleaned, a new tube has been installed for the crown and the dial has been carefully cleaned and hands and dial have been overhauled. The movement is completely free of corrosion, which is rare for models of this era. It runs very well, has a beat error of .1 and an amplitude of over 300°. The watch appears to still be water-resistant, but this cannot be guaranteed. It comes on either a new pass through nato or a vintage style leather strap - not the tropic.
