Crafted entirely in 18k yellow gold, this is one of the most unique and under-appreciated references in the Day-Date lineage, combining Rolex’s traditional luxury with late-70s design. The Oysterquartz Day-Date was produced in relatively small numbers compared to its automatic counterparts, and the 19018 stands out with its integrated bracelet, angular case lines, and solid gold construction throughout. The case measures 36mm, but wears larger and more modern thanks to the integrated design. Powering the watch is the legendary Caliber 5055, Rolex’s high-precision quartz movement, with instantaneous day and date change at midnight, hacking seconds, and a remarkably smooth tick for a quartz piece. These were COSC-certified and built to Rolex’s exacting mechanical standards, with finishing and architecture that rival many traditional movements. The battery was just replaced last month, and the watch is running perfectly.
