Originally created for pilots, the oversized crown made it easy to adjust the watch even while wearing gloves, a feature that remains both practical and charming today. This reference, the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 7679, features a 40mm stainless steel case with a stainless steel coin-edge bezel that adds just the right touch of cool and vintage flair. The case measures 48mm lug-to-lug and 12mm thick, paired with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water resistance is rated at 100m, making it more versatile than most heritage-inspired pieces in this category. The dial is beautifully balanced, available here in ivory color, with silver hands and Arabic numerals that pair elegantly with the bezel. At the center sits the signature pointer date hand, a hallmark of the collection. Inside ticks the reliable Oris Caliber 754 (based on Sellita SW200-1), an automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve, visible through the exhibition caseback. The watch is in near mint condition, with almost no scratches nor dents. The crystal is clear and clean, dial is flawless. It comes on the original OEM Oris Bracelet which has no sign of being worn with tag hanging (fits 22cm ~ 8.5 inches wrist). The movement has recently been serviced and is keeping excellent time at +/-5s a day. It comes with original box (no papers).
