Martin Braun’s watches bring the sky down to wrist level. Established in 2000, the namesake brand developed around a watchmaker’s interest in astronomical complications: not simply tracking hours, but showing how the day we measure relates to the sun and moon. That focus gives the collection a distinct character, with traditional hands and finely marked scales serving some unusually thoughtful displays.
The defining model is the Eos, which indicates sunrise and sunset for a specified location. These are changing times, not fixed appointments, and watching the indications shift through the seasons is much of the pleasure. Its paired displays make the complication legible without turning the dial into a scientific instrument; the watch remains recognizably classical despite its uncommon subject.
The Notos explores the equation of time—the difference between mean time and apparent solar time—while the Selene turns to the moon’s phases. Each approaches astronomy from a different angle, giving Braun’s mechanical curiosity room to work beyond a single signature complication.
