Explore Ventura
Ventura approaches the watch as an industrial-design problem: how should a case meet the wrist, and how should its owner read and set the time? Founded in Switzerland in 1989 by Pierre Nobs, the brand found a distinctive voice through its collaboration with designer Hannes Wettstein. Sculpted cases, restrained surfaces, and unconventional controls became signatures, with little room for decoration that served no purpose.
The v-matic family gives that philosophy a mechanical expression, pairing automatic movements with cases whose shapes depart from the familiar round dress watch. The digital v-tec watches take a different route. Their crisp displays and roller-operated interfaces make setting the watch part of the design, rather than an awkward task delegated to a row of tiny buttons.
Then there is sparc, which brings wrist-powered electrical generation to a digital watch. It is a particularly revealing Ventura idea: borrow the energy source associated with an automatic mechanical watch, but use it to drive an electronic display.
