This is a Sinn 140/42 ST in an overall very nice and unpolished condition. This watch is a tribute piece manufactured by Sinn as the "first automatic chronograph worn in space" in the 1980’s by German astronaut Reinhard Furrer. Whether this was the case or not, Sinn took the opportunity and represented as a "space flown" watch and the case back shows the Space Shuttle and D1 image in the center of the brushed case back.
Some descriptive below written by the original seller more beautifully than I could have and I believe to be 100% accurate:
"The matte black dial is perfect, and has Tritium indices have gracefully aged to a lovely buttery color. The hour and minute hands are clean and carry a similar color of the dial to their tritium lumed portions. The orange chrono hands are still brightly colored and show well. The 24 hour sub dial at the 12 o’clock position is a neat detail. Day wheel is in German language abbreviation only.
The matte finished case 43mm wide and 45 mm tip-to-tip is in good condition. It has a few minor nicks, but overall in very nice shape with original factory finish on all surfaces. Original signed crown allows the option of hand winding the movement. The Inner rotating bezel is operated by the secondary crown at 10 o’clock.
The bracelet is typical of the early releases of this reference, and has the same matte finish applied. A spring-loaded clasp allows the watch to fit with gentle pressure to keep it in place and fitting up to a 7.25 inch wrist.
Lastly, the very robust Lemania 5100 movement runs nicely and was last serviced in 2019 and the watch will be accompanied by the original Sinn box and one spare bracelet link.
Now, on to some pictures:
Price: $3,300 for trade or $3,100 for straight sell and shipped via bank wire with insured overnight Fedex.
I will consider a trade towards a full set titanium Panerai 25, 55, 61 or 118 in full set and comparable condition with cash adjustment.
Many references for your review with over a decade of watch trading for your buying comfort here and Rolex forum. A video conference or Zoom call is most welcome to say hello or to take a closer look at this beautiful bird.
NYC metro area local deal will come with a complimentary Starbucks coffee of your choice
