Iconic Sinn 103 case, but in an awesome destro configuration, doesn’t get much cooler than this. Day-date, uncluttered layout with a 30-minute counter (the longest I’ve ever needed to run a chrono), destro configuration that is unbelievably comfortable, and bi-directional friction bezel, which means 99% of the time you never really need to run the chrono. The domed acrylic and delicious distortions is cherry on top. I love the beautiful dial typography of the Arabic numerals, the handset, and the vivid chrono hands. The lume lasts all night. And last, but certainly not least, it’s an absolutely strap monster.
For those wondering what the differences are between the acrylic and sapphire 103s besides the crystal, the acrylic version is noticeably thinner, at 15.5mm vs 17mm, but since the domed acrylic makes up easily 2mm of the thickness this wears really like 12/13mm, which is nothing short of amazing for a 7750/ SW500 based chronograph. The acrylic 103 also has traditional pushers as opposed to screw-down on the sapphire, which makes the chrono much more practical and accessible in real life. The design of the Sinn Military Type IV Limited Edition takes its inspiration from Sinn watches made in the 1960s. Acrylic crystals and friction bezels were standard issue in almost all mechanical watches from that time. The bi-directional rotating bezel friction bezel on the acrylic 103 means no worrying about bezel misalignment and makes for a unique/serene bezel feel. 200 piece LE shared between Japan and North America.
