Hamilton along with Heuer and Breitling took on the race to develop the first automatic chronograph movement in 1969. While it is still debatable who was El Primero to win that race, Hamilton still wins with watches like this that are still running, are desirable and collectible 50+ years later. This particular example is in great shape for it's age. It's all original as part as the watch itself, but the hands seemed to have been touched up as some point. Still a great looking which that I unfortunately is not getting enough wrist time. Watch has decent power reserve as I can put it down and it still works 2 days later. Keeps good time, but not sure down the SPD. I don't think this watch needs service and quite frankly I would not try to service it unless it was running super late or fast and this watch seems fine.
