For sale this nice example of a quirky French Cousteau dive watch. The watch is fully original and was obtained directly from the first (French) gentleman owner. I have a nice story (in French) on how he acquired and used it, I will send this through private message to the buyer. The blue sunray dial looks immaculate to my eye, which is the unique selling proposition of this example as most of them are mid to heavily degraded. The blue-paint-curse

Case, bezel, caseback, crystal and crown
Full stainless steel case in very nice shape, unpolished with circular brushing fully visible. The unsigned crown is the original one. The crystal as well, with slight scratches as I kept it unpolished. Nice screw caseback with vertical brushing visible and crisp engravings. The bezel is in nice shape, good colors, rotates well - note that the lumepip is gone.
Hands and dial
The sunray blue dial is in beautiful condition, no scratches, spotting, or similar blemishes. The yellowed tritium in the hands shows the same beautiful ageing as on the dial. Note that the seconds hand is missing some tritium. All white text is crisp and quite striking.
Bracelet
It is mounted on one of the two original bracelet options as offered back in the day, of which this is the rarer one with tapered spring-loaded links. Like with many of these watches (almost 50% of the examples I see have this issue - for example this one sold by Veblenist: https://veblenist.com/products/zrc-300-spatiale), the upper endlink ruptured partly on the corners directly above the lugs, and it is bent. It is mainly an optics issue as the endlink is fully functional and sits tight. The bracelet should fit 17 to 18cm wrists - extra links are available on ebay (can provide link upon request).
Caliber and service
The PUW 1463 caliber runs well, although I do not know the service history. The date and day functions flip as they should.
Returns are of course allowed if I misrepresented the watch or the condition.
