How do you make seven hands less noticeable on a dial? Put a 30mm copper antenna in the middle of the dial. **Model**: 7400-c70007, Citizen Radio Control **Year**: 1993 **Features**: ***Video:*** [Click to see a short unboxing video.](https://www.instagram.com/p/C7sPfdgo1cz/) ***7400 movement***. The world’s first radio-controlled analogue watch, sporting a 12/24 hour sub-dial, a preset/pseudo-GMT selector, and a pusher based day and month indicator. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but you can’t pretend it isn’t incredibly interesting to look at! ***- The Box.*** I appreciate this won’t excite everybody, but this is being sold with the original outer and inner boxes, manual and display board (typically given to retailers for shop windows). As far as I can tell, an original inner and outer box of the 7400 haven’t surfaced on the internet before! It makes for a very neat collector’s piece. The inclusion of the display board suggests this watch was once a display piece in a shop. Citizen were extremely proud of this release, and wanted to show it off everywhere they could. It might explain why the condition is so mint/unworn except for scratches on the case back. ***- Location Selector***. The sub-dial in the bottom left allows you to choose between central Europe, the UK, and Japanese time at the click of a pusher. L-1 and L-2 are two programmable times that can be set by the user, giving the watch GMT functionality. The main dial on the right-hand side of the watch is typically controlled by radio signals, but it can be overridden to display anytime you desire. ***- Radio Waves***. Once per day (at different times depending on the day of the week), the watch will check for Atomic Clock Radio Waves. If you’re within 800km of a tower the watch can automatically adjust the time to be correct to the second. You can also make the watch manually confirm the time using radio waves whenever you need it to (by press a combination of buttons). Everything works as intended, and I have been able to receive radio signal (in the UK). Thanks to modern technology you can use your phone to spoof radio signals if you don’t live close enough to a radio transmitter. I’ve not tried it myself, but according to the various videos on YouTube it definitely works! You can also manually set the time yourself without needing to use any form of radio signal. ***- Unique Design***. When Citizen was building the first ever radio-controlled analogue watch, they had a hurdle to overcome that their digital competitors didn’t have; an abundance of metal parts that kept blocking the radio signal. The solution? Put the antenna front and centre, above all the metal parts. It might look like it’s above the crystal but it’s actually beneath it, giving the crystal a really unique shape. ***- The Bracelet***. The original and full-length two-two bracelet. It can fit up to a 8.5” (21.5cm) wrist. **Condition**: Excellent condition. The only real caveat is the case back. This has lots self-inflicted markings of the bracelet scratching against it as the watch has been handled over the last 30 years. I would describe the rest of watch as being in unworn condition. New battery installed. **Scope**: Full box (inner and outer) with original display board and manual. **Movement**: 7400 quartz **Case Width**: 41mm **Lug to lug:** 44mm **Case Thickness**: 13.2mm **Bracelet width:** 20mm **Price**: Due to the condition and scope, I’m offering it at $1740 + shipping (costs $5-$55 depending on where you are in the world). It’s a great opportunity for anyone looking to snag an incredibly cool collector’s piece as not only is the 7400 rare in itself, but the full kit is unicorn rarity. **Of note**: If anyone is interested in a interesting read about this watch, Fratello has you covered: [https://www.fratellowatches.com/timetravel-3-radio-controlled-citizen-7400-multizone/](https://www.fratellowatches.com/timetravel-3-radio-controlled-citizen-7400-multizone/) [Album](https://imgur.com/a/v8y1AGr) [Proof](https://imgur.com/a/XHFzxSi)
