This is one of Rolex’s most passionately thought-out precious stone watches, as sodalite is not a common jewelry mineral at all, and they did not make this watch in any other combination! It was only made as a serti dial on jubilee with WG bezel. Examples date from the mid 90s all the way through the early 2000’s. This was a very specific model they made for tasteful collectors. I thought that stainless and diamonds wasn’t going to be my style but it quickly became my favorite. This is the epitome of a watch that is under-the-radar but can draw an eye or two from across the room. The reason this piece is listing for cheaper than any other 36mm Stone Dial Rolex in the world is that it has a very faint crack from the 9 position heading towards the center of the watch! And some extremely faint (invisible except for in direct sunlight) crazing around said crack. Many collectors have handled this watch and have stated that despite this the piece is in stunning condition. Is keeping time via a chronometer from watchmaker service last year! Hacking function needs tuning but otherwise works flawlessly. Date function is c*risp* and easy to use.
