Aficionados, take note! Up for sale today is my iconic Chronoswiss Régulateur Automatique from 1994. This was the watch that put Chronoswiss on the map and made the regulator a sought-after complication in past 30 years. The watch is in excellent condition with a like-new bracelet (with all links included) and a well-worn leather strap. I am giving this beauty up because it simply does not get the wrist time it deserves. What can I say about this watch that you probably don’t already know? It has a lovely silvery, creamy dial that takes on different colors in different lighting conditions. The double-knurled case is unique, much more interesting than just a simply coin-edged bezel. The screwed lugs are distinctive to Chronoswiss, adding a utilitarian twist to the watch’s appearance. The C122 movement, based off a cache of Enicar 165 that Chronoswiss possessed, is handwound and unidirectional. The gold rotor is a treat for a watch at this price point, as is the movement’s finishing. While I don’t have service records for this piece, it runs strong on a timegrapher. Finally, the bracelet is also quite different from your typical jubilees, oysters, and beads of rice. The shimmer is impressive, allowing the watch dress up and down. I just put the bracelet on because the leather strap is a bit worn and dried out. It is in near-mint condition. The only imperfections I see are scratches on the lugs with strap changes. The hinge on the decorative box (also a beauty!) could use new adhesive, but everything is in amazing condition given that the watch was first bought in May 1994! The price is $2500. I haven’t seen another CH1223 with a full set and bracelet (in the US no less!) for under $2700 anywhere. When you factor in the condition, this is a steal! I accept Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.
