Omega Speedmaster FOIS First Omega in Space 311.32.40.30.01.001 The Moonwatch “First Omega in Space” was inspired by the watch worn by astronaut Wally Shirra in 1962 as he orbited the earth during the “Sigma 7” mission.  There are not only aesthetic differences from the Professional but also more wearable proportions: 39.7mm case X 19mm lug width X 47 height.  It is still manually powered by the 1861 movement which was in in production for decades and arguably better than the new 3861.
