For sale is a fantastic Minerva VD712 issued to the Swedish navy in the 60s, the watch have a well built waterproof steel case in 37mm and house the legendary Valjoux 72 movement.
This watch was issued to the Swedish army and more specifically the navy during the 60s therefore the three crowns "tre kronor" and 145 engraved on the caseback. But by looking at the condition this watch probably was not used in many badass missions, nevertheless it adds that extra icing on the cake on an already very good Minerva chronograph 😀
The Minerva VD712 was manufactured over 3 decades or so and came with two different styles of cases from my resourcing.
This almost twisted / bombe lug design.
And the simpler straight case design with straight beveled edges:
They also came with various types of dials ranging from decimal dials, tachymeter, and even applied indices and sunburst. To this simpler more military with tritium numerals and just second-scale.
Back to this example the condition is overall very good, nice case with sharp edges intact flawless dial (except a very thin hairlike scratch on the dial between 7 and 8o'clock). The tritium is greenish as it should, some dirt or rust / corrosion is visible on the edges of the hour and minute hands. The blued hands looks great to the eggshell white dial.
Valjoux 72 movement works like a charm and is supersmooth, keeping accurate time but no known service history.
Watch comes on a vintage no name brick / rice grain bracelet in steel that suits the watch very good in my opinion, but the watch also looks great on a leather strap.
Price: 3750EUR net to me by bankwire or wise. I’m located in Sweden, preferable shipping at cost.
