Oh the Cartier Tank Americaine, in gold or stainless it’s just such an awesome piece of design! First released in 1987, 70 years after the initial release of the Tank, and yet they brought a whole lot of Art Deco to the table. As Tanks become ever more popular by the day (as they should) this one helps you stand out of the crowd - and in stainless it offers a fantastic price point! REF: WSTA0017 / 3971 SERIAL: 13648XXX DIAL: The silver has a gorgeous tone to it, the Roman numerals are quintessential Cartier and as you can see even in macro it’s in fantastic condition, including the sapphire crystal. CASE: 23mm x 42MM stainless case. It’s basically the same width as a vintage men’s Cartier Tank but then spreads across the entirety of the wrist - such a funky design and extremely comfortable to wear (photographed on my 6.6 inch wrist.) Case is in great shape with regular light scratches throughout, and a few tiny knocks, as expected mostly, on the thick polished front, but looks fantastic. LOVE the chunky crown on these, and of course the classic blue cabachon! MOVEMENT: Service history unknown but the automatic movement is winding smoothly, setting perfectly, and timegrapher numbers are great at 6 seconds a day with a very healthy amplitude of 332.
