This watch was a JDM only model that was only sold only at Master shops in Japan. It was only made for two years between 2017-2018 so there aren't that many of these out there. This example was made at the tail end of production on 09/22/2018. The reference is 39mm and has the thinnest 9R65 spring drive at only 11.9mm (The only thinner ones being the Evolution-9 series with the 9RA2 movement, such as the SLGA019 at 11.8mm. However, those will run you over $10,000). Modern 9R65 spring drives such as the Shunbun SBGA413 are 40mm wide and 12.8mm thick. The snowflake SBGA211 is 41mm wide and 12.5mm thick. This reference was truly a masterpiece in getting the 9R65 in the smallest form factor possible. One of the special things about this model is that it is the only spring drive reference that has a beautiful hand finished applied power reserve indicator which goes along perfectly with the rest of the dial furniture. The designers of this model embraced the spring drive power reserve rather than hide it. Other power reserve indicators on the 9R65 either have an engraved indicator or are printed on the dial.Some other interesting peculiarities about this reference that differ it from other spring drive models is that it has lume, crown guards, gray sunburst dial and a red tipped seconds hand. Grand Seiko models typically are on the more dressy side, but this design makes it feel much more sporty. I've only worn this a handful of times on special occasions since obtaining it. It runs very accurately, only losing 1 second after a week. I'm selling because I've been very much enjoying 36mm models and am slowly transitioning my collection to 36mm sizes. The watch is currently sized to 16.7cm with additional 3.5cm of links available. Both half links are included. All of the original box, papers, and operation manuals are included.
