[WTS] Super Rare Platinum Credor 8J80 "Frozen Window" • Ultra Thin • Very good condition • Original Box • Extra Strap
Hey All, I'm selling this stunning ultra thin platinum Credor 8J80, also called Frozen Window. Quite simply this is the rarest watch in my collection, and I'm sad to see it go. Unfortunately, it doesn't get enough wrist time, and I need to free up some funds for other life things. This one comes with the watch and original box as well as 2 straps. ###Dimensions *Width: 34mm* *Lug to lug: 39mm* *Thickness: 5.2mm* ###More Information The dial is absolutely jaw dropping. The inner section has a sparkling, snowdrift texture, that's made with white gold specks, that's continued in two concentric outer rings. Between those is a very fine sunburst pattern that houses thin applied Roman numerals, along with hour and minute dots. The spear hands are long, thin and elegant in black. The battery was changed in 2023, which means it will last several more years. The movement in question is the high accuracy quartz 8J80 movement which preceded the Grand Seiko 9F movement. The 8J class is arguably a higher tier than the 9F due to the increased battery replacement interval, general robustness and impressive accuracy. It is widely considered one of the best quartz movements ever produced. The 8J80 movement in this watch is a thermocompensated high accuracy quartz rated to a staggering +/- 10 seconds per YEAR. Last year I got the chance to meet Joe Kirk, Brand Curator of Grand Seiko, America, where he was surprised to see the watch and it's condition. According to his estimates, the watches dates to the early 1990's. But just got reference, I've included the original watch brochure with the launch listing information in the album. The battery was changed in 2023. The condition is excellent for its age. The platinum case shows some signs of wear with minor scratches throughout, but nothing significant. The dial and crystal are almost perfect, as is the onyx cabochon and crown. Platinum is very easy to polish and restore, so these can easily be buffed out, if you want to. ###Price $2,699 insured and shipped.
