[WTS] Seiko Type-II March 1979 Special Textured Dial Bilingual JDM Japan-Made
For sale is this vintage Seiko Type-II 7123-7010, made in Japan, in March of 1979. During the 70s Seiko was leading the quartz revolution with extremely high-quality quartz watches of which this in no exception. Type-II (Type-2) was Seiko wanting to make a more attainable series of quartz watches for the people, as quartz watches were very expensive, far more than the equivalent automatics of the time. These were Japanese domestic market only. This example has a brutalist styling for the unique case design which contrasts nicely with the fresh snowfall-textured dial - very '70s. The markers also follow the brutalist styling with multi-layered design reminiscent of the Seiko King Quartz 4823-8120 that came before it. Made in the Daini factory (as indicated by the Daini lightning bolt symbol) during their fierce rivalry with the Suwa factory. The calibre 7123 is a beautiful movement.Comes on a high-quality and very supple leather strap which I think suits it perfectly but if you would rather have the original bracelet instead please let me know and I can exchange it for you. Good condition for being an over 50 year old watch, original finishing still intact, general wear is expected. Bilingual days of the week can be in English or Japanese Kanji (Sunday is in red print while the rest of the days are in black print). Dimensions are: 34mm x 39mm x 8.6mm Lug Width 18mm Looking for $180 (plus buyer pays Paypal fees) international tracked shipping included in price!
