It was one of the first in the world to run at 36000 bph, and Longines proudly claimed it was the most accurate movement on the market at the time, with a guarantee of one minute per month. And they had the proof to back it up, competing head-to-head with the likes of Seiko, Zenith, and Girard-Perregaux. From 1973 onwards, when COSC got involved, the Ultra-Chron watches were officially certified as chronometers, but even before that, they were already delivering serious results. The Ultra-chron housed in a 34.5mm stainless steel case, it features a silvered sunray dial with applied steel indices, a framed date window at 3 o’clock, the Ultra-Chron emblem, and Longines’ winged hourglass logo. The luminous baton hands are sharp and legible, giving the dial a clean, cutting edge look. Inside ticks the high-beat Caliber 431, known for its smooth sweep and accuracy. The watch is in good condition for its age, the crystal is flawless and free of scratches, the case and case back are still in great shape, dial has some minor marks but doesn’t affect the whole aesthetic. The watch has been serviced so it will keep great time at +/-5s a day. Watch is featured on leather straps with Longines buckle. Doesn’t come with original box and paper though standard watch box will be provided upon purchase.
