After wearing this beauty for a few months, I’ve realized it’s a bit too big for my wrist at 49.0mm lug to lug. I fell in love with this at first sight during my visit to Japan as GS basically just hasn’t made any gold dials since the 90’s. The gold isn’t tacky and is actually tasteful, especially in full sunlight where the gleam of the Iwao dial pattern evokes swirling clouds at sunrise. What’s also unique are the uneven minute markers, which, in my opinion, improve readability and add a sportier look to the watch. There’s a small scratch on the lug and scratches on the bracelet, which I’ve tried to capture in the pictures. All other scratches are barely noticeable. The watch keeps time exceptionally well at +/- 1-2 seconds a week and the power reserve of 3 days combined with the rotor means you barely have to set or wind it if you wear it often.
