Here's one of the best bang-for-your-buck watches known to man - the Steinhart Ocean One 39. I purchased it directly from Steinhart in September of 2023. Anyone who knows Steinhart is familiar with it's reputation for offering Swiss-made watches with impressive quality and finishing for the price. The Ocean One 39 takes vintage dive watch proportions and modern aesthetics and brings them together in a compact, wearable everyday sports watch. This model features a 120-click unidirectional ceramic bezel in a bold green. The hands and indices are filled with Super-LumiNova, providing strong legibility in all lighting conditions. The 39mm 316L stainless steel case wears nicely on the wrist compared it it's 42mm brother, with a 47mm lug-to-lug, 12mm thickness, and a 20mm lug width. Powering the watch is a Swiss automatic ETA 2824-2 (Elaboré grade) movement, which was serviced by Steinhart in late 2023. It currently runs at +1-+2 seconds per day - better than my Rolex. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating give the Ocean One 39 a 300-meter (1000ft) water resistance rating, making it suitable for both desk diving and strapping it to the hull of a submarine. This thing feels like it can survive a nuclear apocalypse the moment you grab it out of the box. This particular example shows only light signs of wear like some faint hairlines on the clasp and bracelet, but the case, crystal, and bezel are in excellent condition.
