Using one of Seiko’s s very well advertised and known “Hi-Beat” movement (28800 bph), resulting in silky smooth sweep, especially when you consider the watch is almost 30 years old. * *Alpinist*. The Alpinist series started in the 1960s with the release of the Seiko “Laurel” Alpinist. Designed to be used as an outdoor watch by Japanese mountain climbers, it is perhaps more well known to modern collectors as the series that contains the SARB017. All Alpinists are released as part of Seiko’s “Prospex” (professional specifications) line, as they are built to be rugged and regularly worn. * *Rotating Bezel*. Now a feature of all Alpinists, it can be used to determine your bearings if you can currently see the Sun. Works very smoothly, with no binding/sticking and absolutely no loss of colour due to aging. * *Bracelet*. The full and original bracelet, able to accommodate up to a 7.5 inch (19cm) wrist. **Condition**: The watch is in very good condition overall, given the watch is 26 years old. There are shallow hairline scratches on the dial, but they are very hard to see/photograph (one is visible in [this photo](https://i.imgur.com/JwyCV3T.jpeg) above the pinion, and another scratch is visible above 8 o’clock in [this photo](https://i.imgur.com/Wmk7pk6.jpeg)). The cyclops is very slightly scuffed, but there are no difficulties seeing the number underneath. The case itself has shallow hairlines, but again, nothing significant or troubling from a visual perspective. The case back shows minor signs of the bracelet marking it, but it’s very light overall. Bracelet is very good overall, and any abrasions are shallow and inoffensive.
