Up for sale is a nearly NOS 1940s Baume & Mercier chronograph. It doesn’t get much better than this - a nice sized 36mm steel case, powerhouse Valjoux 22 movement, fully original and untouched case and dial (including remnant “purple snot” from new on the caseback), and original strap and hang tag. Dial: Original, non-refinished dial is in very nice condition. There’s no discoloration, just some marks here and there. Features attractive blued steel hands.

Case: Original 36mm stainless steel case is in almost perfect, unpolished condition. The caseback retains remnants of the original “purple snot” that was on the caseback to prevent damage when it was new.

Crown: Original unsigned crown.

Crystal: Plexi crystal is free of scratches (unsure if original or replacement given they weren’t originally signed).

Movement: Original high grade Valjoux 22 movement runs, winds, and sets well. The movement was fully serviced in July 2022, however the watchmaker has since passed away and thus comes with no guarantees. All functions work as expected.

Strap/hang tag: Comes on its original leather strap and buckle, with the original hang tag attached.
