I feel a bit guilty about listing this King Seiko 45KS. The 45KS is one of the most sought-after models among vintage King Seiko collectors. With its high-frequency movement running at 36,000 beats per hour, its accuracy is exceptional, even surpassing that of my modern Grand Seiko watches. This 45KS has been one of the finest pieces in my collection for about a year. I purchased it in Japan during a conference, and the store assured me it was an unused model. Given its impeccable condition—case, crystal, dial, medallion, and buckle—I wholeheartedly agree. The only part that wasn’t in perfect condition was the strap, which I have since replaced with one that closely matches the original. Since acquiring it, the watch has been carefully stored in my watch box, and I’ve been hesitant to wear it myself. Therefore, I’ve decided to list it in the hope that someone else will appreciate its beauty and craftsmanship even more than I have. I’m listing it at $1800, which includes shipping and insurance. I believe this is a fair price, especially when compared to the price of the King Seiko reissue models, which typically range from $3000 to $3500, and the modern Grand Seiko models, such as the SBGW291, which is listed at $5200. The furnish level of this 45KS is as great as the modern Grand Seiko models I own, making it an exceptional piece for any collector.
