Alpina!  * Asking **$230** shipped within CONUS * Condition: Heavy wear/plating loss on case. New crystal. Hands have lost their lume, and the dial is pretty beat up.  * Movement: Alpina 586. According to the previous owner, the watch has been recently serviced, and runs alright: +/- 3 minutes in most positions (except crown-down)  * Case diameter: 30mm (excluding crown) * Lug-lug: 34mm * Lug width: 15.3mm * Thickness: 8.5mm This is quite an interesting watch, made by Alpina for the Kriegsmarine (KM) during WW2. The movement, as previously stated, has been recently serviced, and looks stunning. With that said though, it doesn’t run anywhere near optimal, so I assume that this “service” was only movement cleaning, without any regulating. I’m sure that with some hairspring adjustment, it could run much more accurately.  Roughly guessing by visuals, the dial-down amplitude looks to be around 180-200, and you can see from the timegrapher that the beat error is around 10ms. In addition, the balance loses almost all of its amplitude when oriented crown-down. With that said though, while wearing it the gain/loss cancels out, and the perceived time deviation is much smaller. The caseback is snap-fit, and you can see evidence of slip marks around the lip.
