This is a catch and release for me.

This is a very cool watch. A little small for me, but cool nonetheless. It's a very wearable field watch with some very unique features (movement). This watch is near mint, may be a couple little marks under the lugs, but overall almost new. The strap has been worn and broken in, which is nice considering the review videos I have seen which people say it’s stiff and needs to be broken in. Also included it a zulu strap with matching bead blasted hardware. This is a numbered (low number too) of 1000 which is long since sold out.

Here is the description from the islandwatch website.

Introducing the 2nd watch in the Rangemaster collection. Last year, Island Watch and The Urban Gentry teamed up to bring you the “Rangemaster,” your everyday companion. The watch returns this year as a mechanical, hand-winding only variation – the way a true field watch should be.

The fully blasted stainless steel case is perfectly proportioned at just 37mm in diameter and a mere 9.4mm thick. That is thin enough to go under the tightest of shirt cuffs. With a lug to lug measurement of 45mm, you will find it fits virtually all wrists. Securing it to your wrist is a 20mm green fabric strap that is perfect for around town, or around the field. The strap length is 120 x 85mm, and it weighs merely 58 grams.

The dial of the watch incorporates many useful design elements, all playing together perfectly to maintain amazing legibility, whether in daylight or at night. The dial is marked with the Islander logo at the top, and the collaborator, The Urban Gentry, has the lion logo on the bottom half of the dial. A small nod to the manufacturer, Islander, is located in red under the 6:00 position. Inside is a Made in Japan Miyota 8N24 gilded skeleton movement, with 21 jewels. We have removed the rotor, so you get an unobstructed view of the complete works. The gilded color contrasts wonderfully with the blasted caseback. Power reserve is about 40 hours, so you will be able to lay it down for a day, and pop it back on the following day without missing a beat. The crown is super easy to turn with your fingertips, as it is well-textured. Because it is based on an automatic, there is no fear of overwinding the mainspring.

Dial legibility is turned up to the maximum with stylized 3/6/9 markers, and trapezoids for the remainder. The sharp eye will catch the lack of hash marks just to the left and right of 12:00; a gap that is used to help with synchronization and hacking. Basically, this gap represents the time required for you to process the command to “synchronize” and pull the crown; right around ½ a second.

The hands stand out on the stark black dial with a sharp white outline, and filled with C3 lume. Additionally, the markers and numbers on the dial have the same lume quality, and all glow green when the lights go down. A secondary track of military time hours, 13 – 23, is on the inner portion of the dial (also lumed!)

Lastly, the watch is topped with a flat sapphire crystal coated with clear AR on the inside to keep glare to a minimum. The caseback is also sapphire, a small detail not overlooked. The edge of the caseback is etched with the model number (ISL-226), the series number (XXXX/1000), and the Latin phrase “Esto quod esse videris,” which means “Be who you seem to be.” Limited to just 1000 pieces worldwide.

Comes with “Rangemaster Mechanical” giftbox, and card with LE number printed on it.

I have bought and sold a lot here on WUS, and I am trying to transition away from eBay (fees). I am “blaker333” on eBay too, you can message me there as well. I have 20+yrs of selling experience there with 100% positive feedback. I am sure I am not the only one trying to move away from eBay’s high fees.

Thanks for the consideration and please feel free to PM me with any questions you may have.
