For sale I have a Seiko Turtle Orange Sumo project I did some years ago. I actually sold it last year but bought it back recently as I thought I could do a "new" project. However after receiving it I decided it looks great as it is and will go another direction. I did this project because the Sumo case was not very comfortable for me and the 20mm lugs on such a large case did not work for me. The Turtle was a better choice for me hence the project.

As I am not going to unmock this nice piece, I am offering it here for sale. The watch is in excellent condition and works as it should. It made completely with Seiko Original parts including the super rare orange original Sumo dial (SBDC003) without the X on it. The hands are also OEM Seiko, both Made in Japan. The base watch is a Seiko Turtle SRP777. Lume is bright and long lasting. See the pictures for the looks and condition.

Comes with the pictured OEM Seiko Flat Vent Rubber strap. This dial is actually very rare and the Orange Sumo is often priced 2-3 times my asking price.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
