# SBGL001 Video: [https://youtube.com/shorts/a8uPCITzk40?feature=share](https://youtube.com/shorts/a8uPCITzk40?feature=share) Up for sale is a special and unusual Grand Seiko model, reference SBGL001. This watch features the 9S67 caliber, which was Grand Seiko's first 3-day power reserve movement, and which was only made from about 2006 to 2010 across just 10 references. This particular reference was the debut model for the Mt. Iwate dial pattern, famously inspired by the mountain visible through the windows of the studio where Grand Seiko mechanical watches are manufactured. Fully Zaratsu polished hands and indices sparkle, but the watch is not as bright as many Grand Seiko models due to the inversion of the brushed and polished finishes on the case. Normally the lugs and bezel of a Grand Seiko are polished and the sides and inside of the lugs are brushed, but this model flips that design and it really brings out the hands and dial. The beautifully finished movement is shown through the sapphire display back. One interesting feature of this movement compared to other Grand Seiko's with power reserve indicators is that the indicator actually fills up as the watch is wound and then descends as it runs down. All other Grand Seiko movement power reserves run the opposite way (the indicator moves down towards 6 o'clock as the watch is wound and up towards 12 o'clock as the watch runs down). All in all this is a really nice piece of Grand Seiko history and representative of the initial steps the brand took to become the more mainstream design and manufacture powerhouse they are today. The case is a well-proportioned 38.5mm wide without crown, with a 45.7mm lug to lug length and 19mm lug width. This example is in excellent condition, and comes with the inner and outer Grand Seiko boxes, original timing certificate, manuals, and bracelet measuring up to about 7.5" laid flat. It dates to 2006, was recently serviced, and is running beautifully. **Imgur album**: [https://imgur.com/a/sbgl001-Ne0yInu](https://imgur.com/a/sbgl001-Ne0yInu) **Timestamp:** [https://imgur.com/a/BhJLhwo](https://imgur.com/a/BhJLhwo) I'm asking **$2550 shipped** in the US, payment via wire, Zelle, or Venmo F&F. I am happy to accommodate international shipping and will only charge the difference in cost on top. Also willing to meet F2F, north of Boston. I'm not interested in trades.
