For sale we have something rather unique: a King Seiko 45-7000 hand wind, 36000 bhp hi-beat with sensational dial patina and about as clean a gold-plated case as you’ll see. This watch dates from November 1969—did it sit on a windowsill in Japan for the last 50 years? Not sure what the story is, but the dial has patinaed into a beautiful uniform champagne color that’s a little lighter in the center and darker on the edges. Service history is unknown, but this piece is running well (DU amplitude at full wind on my computer timegrapher is 190-220, which is healthy for a 45-series movement.) I haven’t worn this enough to know what the real-world timekeeping is like but it’s running around flat to +10 on the timegrapher depending on state of wind. There are a couple dings on the case but nothing major, edges are crisp, and there’s only a small amount of the lug tip wear that you tend to see on these. Crystal has a few scuffs on it but nothing significant. Comes on a handmade brown leather strap. I really don’t know what a reasonable price for this is since I’ve never seen another like it, but asking $800 including insured shipping to the US.
