For sale is this very cool vintage Jaeger LeCoultre 18k yellow gold "Tank" with manual wind movement, dating to about the late 1970s. JLC and Cartier had a close and competitive relationship historically, with JLC supplying movements to Cartier, and Cartier releasing their branded Reversos and the Basculante (a sort of "vertical" reverso). This model from JLC clearly takes inspiration from the Cartier Tank, but modifies the case to be more three dimensional with the stepped bezel and protruding caseback. It also takes the sapphire cabochon crown style of the tank, but the interlocking triangular pattern on the dial inspired by a traditional Japanese pattern ("Uroko", translating to "scale") is very different. Dial is also "sigma" signed, meaning hands and markers at least are solid gold. In terms of size, this is a men's watch with a 25mm width and 33mm lug to lug. In comparison, a vintage men's Tank (and current midsize Tank) is 23.5mm, while the large modern Tank is 25.5mm. Lug width is a wide set 19mm that gives the watch more presence on the wrist.
