Rolex Explorer ref. 1016 A fine adventure watch yet also refined and iconic. Many go on Indiana Jones-like missions for such a piece to only find themselves bamboozled—an all original 1016 is extremely elusive and expensive. This one is an RSC special. While many 1016’s are “put together”, this one was done by Rolex. The 44 prefix on the serial notes a service case so I cannot date the watch (production ranged 1960-1989). The newish hands and dial match and appear to be luminova. This watch was privately serviced in 2021.
