[WTS] Seiko Laurel Alpinist LHAM601
[WTS] Seiko Laurel Alpinist LHAM601
Model: LHAM601 (4S15-0020) Year:July 1996 Album (Green LHAM601): https://imgur.com/a/w46A9dx Features: - The History. Released in 1995, the LHAM Laurels were a dressed-up version of the 1959 Laurel Alpinist - the first ever Alpinist (named after the Japanese Alps, not the ones in Europe). In 1956, Chiharu Igaya made history by winning silver in the Olympic Alpine Skiing event - Japan’s first-ever Winter Olympic medal. This achievement sparked a boom in skiing and winter sports across Japan, prompting Seiko to release a rugged winter sports watch: the Laurel Alpinist. With strong lume, a high-contrast dial, and mountain-shaped indices, it quickly became popular among enthusiasts. - The Alpinists. The LHAMs carry the same hallmarks as the famous Seiko Alpinist collection, which, in my opinion, makes them a hidden part of the Alpinists history. LHAMs use the same 4S15 “Hi-Beat” movement as Shigeo Sakai’s legendary SCVF Alpinists. The darker-coloured LHAM600 also has the same Mountain-inspired indices as the Black SCVF005, and the lighter-coloured LHAM601 also opts for Arabic numbers just like the SCVF007. Furthermore, it’s not hard to argue that the Laurel LHAM600 looks more like the 1959 Alpinist than the official Alpinist re-releases. The Look. The clean layout gives the LHAMs a dressy appearance while still embodying the essence of an Alpinist. Arguably, they make for a sharper-looking everyday watch, especially in an office environment, than any of the Sportier Alpinists. - The Design. The 601 has a laurel-green dial, with raised gold hour markers, and oversized, golden sword hands, all encompassed in a brushed and polished stainless-steel case. Feature mini onion crowns, and have polished caseback with a laurel leaf motif around the edge. - The Bracelet. Both watches come with the original bracelet. Both will fit a ~7.1 inch (18cm) wrist. Details: Condition: has some a handful of minor hairline scratches on the case, but nothing significant. The second hand looks aged when you zoom in but the naked eye would never notice. This watch has no box or papers but I will include the leather travel case. Movement: Seiko’s 4S15 28,800 bph “Hi-Beat” Automatic Lug to Lug: 43.7mm Case Width: 38.0mm Case Thickness: 10.9mm Lug width: 20mm Price: $900 including Shipping. PayPal is available and I will have it sent out immediately upon receipt. Photos taken by u/PaternalAdvice worn once since and it went back in my case
