[WTS] Citizen Sep. '86 Palladium Fluted Bezel Bilingual Day-Date Kanji FULL LINKS JDM Japan-Made
For sale is this vintage Citizen CQ Day/Date, made in Japan, in September of 1986. The Citizen CQ range was aimed to rival Seiko's Quartz range at the time. This example has a stainless steel case and a palladium-plated fluted bezel (SSPD stands for Stainless Steel Palladium) which gives it extra shine compared to stainless steel. Palladium is an expensive material that closely resembles platinum. The design takes cues from Rolex's Oyster Perpetual Day-Date while slimming down the case thickness for more elegance and fit under a cuff. I particularly like the font they chose for the English days of the week making it more modern in the framed day-date window. Lumed dots at the end of the baton markers don't last as long as they once did. Classic handset. The dial is a beautiful sunburst blue while the outer rim of the dial holding the minute markers is just satin which adds to the visual interest of the dial. Original Citizen bracelet can fit wrists up to 20.5cm (8 inches) so probably has close to full links. Condition is good for its age being an over 40 year old watch, original finishing is still intact, general wear is expected. Days of the week can be in English or Japanese Kanji. Dimensions are: 35mm x 41mm x 7.7mm Lug Width 20mm Looking for $99 (plus Buyer pays Paypal fees) International tracked shipping included in price!
