For sale is this vintage Seiko Type-II 7123-5030 made in Japan in January of 1979. The Type-II series by Seiko, only sold in Japan, was aimed at making a quartz series of quality that was more affordable than the QT/QR/QZ cal.38 and cal.48 series that preceded it despite most of the line being more expensive than the automatic offerings.  This example has a beautifully aged tropical dial which is unique to this listing, you won't find another like it. It contrasts very well to the black tipped pencil hands and protruding baton markers. The creamy minute track has not been affected by the same ageing (despite being original) which I think accentuates the beautiful cappuccino nature of the dial. The dial has applied Seiko logo as well as the single quartz crystal logo and a printed "Type II" and Daini factory lightning bolt symbol (made during their fierce rivalry with the Suwa factory). The seconds hand lines up with the markers. The silver date wheel can display Japanese Kanji or English days of the week with Saturday in blue and Sunday in red (rest in black). The case shape is very 70s with the TV style dial cutout. The bracelet is the original Seiko bracelet which has a pushed links and polished centre, very comfortable and can fit a wrist of up to roughly 18.5cm. The quartz calibre 7123 is beautiful to look at. Condition is good being almost 50 years old.
