Art deco meets mid century modern in the LeCoultre Sultan. It’s believed to be the long unknown watch worn by “The Prince of Cool” one of my favorite jazz artists, the late great Chet Baker. Incredible design, allowing you to get the Reverso / Tank vibe, hand wound movement, while moving a little outside the box, and all for under a grand! DIAL: Beautiful black cross hair dial with sub seconds. Some light specs/dust from over the years, and minimal wear seen under a loupe - presents very well. CRYSTAL: Arguably the star of the show, the faceted, diamond-shaped crystal brings such a unique flair to the table. Of course given the age it has wear throughout, mostly seen on the sides, but awesome to find original. CASE: 10k white gold filled case is crazy cool with those oversized ridges! Has some nice wrist presence, larger than a Tank at 22.5mm x 38mm. Wear throughout, given the age, mostly seen on the case back but a little bit in between the bezel ridges and case sides as well. MOVEMENT: Hand wound movement running well, fully regulated by my watchmaker prior to shipping. STRAP: Comes on a barely used black boar leather strap, completing the vintage vibe.
