A watch that needs very little introduction, especially the polar variety, talkin’ about the Rolex Explorer II. A classic that’s seen many an improvement over the decades - design overhaul, full GMT functionionality, the addition of the white dial seen here, and various movement upgrades bringing us to 2011, with the release of the ref 216570. In honor of the Explorer II’s 40th anniversary, the 216570 includes a new case size, chromalight lume, solid center linked bracelet, and of course the orange dial text and GMT hand. This is a great example from that first year of 2011 in a great boxes and card set ready to go! REF: 216570 SERIAL: Scrambled 9PS34XXX DIAL: Rolex does a white dial VERY well! Another change for this reference is the larger hour markers, bringing a whole lotta lume to the table. The white and orange is a sweet combo, and as you can see even under macro just a speck or two, but looks fantastic including the sapphire crystal. CASE: 42MM brings just a hint more to the stainless case while still wearing beautifully (photographed on my 6.6 inch wrist.) Very clean, just some light bezel edge wear and micro scratches on the case sides. I believe it to be unpolished (look at that bezel brushing) and all in I think you’d be hard pressed to find a cleaner example! MOVEMENT: The cal 3187 automatic is winding and setting like butter and keeping incredible time. BRACELET/STRAP: Comes on it’s original Rolex oyster bracelet which will fit up to app 7.25 inches currently, with extra link included. Also has only very light wear throughout, a few micro scratches on the clasp but even that presents beautifully, again hard to find one cleaner. Also comes with a used aftermarket orange rubber strap, great for the summer and to pick up on that orange pop! ACCESSORIES: Great set - outer sleeve, Rolex cardboard box, inner green Rolex box, original Rolex card, and all the Explorer booklets - this is how you want to find ‘em!
